We should have a great opening round match at the Cincinnati Open as Japanese superstar, Kei Nishikori will take on Russian player, Andrey Rublev. Both players are exceptionally talented and will hope that they can win this match and make it to the third round of the tournament. This should be a really close contested tennis match which will be really good to watch.

Kei Nishikori has been in amazing form but has managed to slip up in every tournament. The Japanese superstar still hasn’t won an ATP event in 2018 which is very disappointing considering how well he has been playing. This will be his lost chance before the US Open and it will be interesting to see how he will tackle the competition. Kei Nishikori has traditionally done well in the USA and it will be interesting to see if that trait continues in Cincinnati.

In comparison to Kei Nishikori, Andrey Rublev is much newer to the ATP scene. The Russian is only 20 but has already established himself as one of the better players on the tour. It has been a difficult 2018 for Andrey Rublev as he has managed to miss much of the season. That being said, he should be fit to play the US Open so it will be important that he can get some court time in the USA before Flushing Meadows. This will be a tough match for the Russian and he will need to improve from the Rogers Cup defeat if he wishes to win.

Both players are exceptionally talented but I am going to predict that Kei Nishikori will win this match. The Japanese superstar has been playing some good tennis and I think he will use his experience to outclass Andrey Rublev. In addition to that, I think this match will last all 3 sets since both players are good enough to win a set.
