Kevin Anderson is making another deep run in a grand slam event. The South African has already shown his talent on the big stage and is looking like he will be able to challenge the top players once again. He has made it to the third round of the 2018 ATP US Open. At this stage of the tournament, he will be facing Denis Shapovalov from Canada. Both players have been in great form over the past few months and will look to display that in this fixture. This is the first time that these two players will meet in an ATP event.

Denis Shapovalov is coming off a 5 set win in the last round. The Canadian fought hard and managed to win a very tight contest. While his performance was impressive, a 5 win set is often very tiring and it will be interesting to see if he is suffering from any fatigue. It is very warm in New York City at the moment which will not help in regards to fatigue. That being said, Denis Shapovalov is hitting the ball very nicely and will feel he has a great chance of beating Kevin Anderson.

On the other side of the court, Kevin Anderson had a 5 set match in the first round but followed that performance by beating Jeremy Chardy in straight sets in the last round. Anderson is looking like an elite player and after many near misses, he will feel he is good enough to get a grand slam title. On paper, Anderson should win this match since he is a much more accomplished player. He has more experience and more attributes to his game when compared to Denis Shapovalov.

All in all, I see Kevin Anderson winning this match. Denis Shapovalov is a great player and will put in a great fight but I think the South African is too good for the Canadian.
