Greek tennis player, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be playing at the 2019 ATP Barcelona Open in Spain. Stefanos Tsitsipas will open his campaign in the second round against Marton Fucsovics from Hungary.
Marton Fucsovics enters this match having won his previous outing in straight sets against Denis Kudla from the United States. It was a dominant performance by Fucsovics. During the win, Marton Fucsovics served exceptionally well as the Hungarian won 71% of his service points which allowed him to win 100% of his service games. Fucsovics also returned well as he broke his opponent’s serve on 4 occasions. This is going to be a much tougher match for Marton Fucsovics as he is playing against the number 5 seed.
On the other side of the coin, Stefanos Tsitsipas last played at the Monte Carlo Masters where the Greek superstar was eliminated in the third round. It was a disappointing tournament although the Tsitsipas won’t be too disappointed as he has been in good form. Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a very strong 2019 season as he had a very strong Australian Open campaign and won the Open 13 in France. Tsitsipas has a very good record at the Barcelona Open as he finished second at this event last season.
Marton Fucsovics and Stefanos Tsitsipas have played once in the past. The match was played in 2017 at the Genova Challenger Event where Stefanos Tsitsipas won with ease.
Marton Fucsovics had a very solid opening round victory but I see the Hungarian losing this match. Stefanos Tsitsipas has established himself as one of the top players in the world and the Greek superstar will be confident about the venue since the performed extremely well at this event last season. Stefanos Tsitsipas is the stronger player and I see him winning this match with some ease.
