Milos Raonic and John Millman meet in the second round of the 2018 tennis Wimbledon.

Milos Raonic is coming off a straight sets win over Liam Broady that took 25 games to decide. In the victory, Raonic won 89 percent of his first serve points and 68 percent of his second serve points. Raonic won 79 percent of his total service points and wasn’t broken once, as he cruised to a first round victory in which he didn’t drop a game in the last two sets. Raonic showed no signs of injury that forced him to withdraw from Queen’s, and he put on a performance that could lead to a big time grand slam run if he can come close to repeating it. As long Raonic continues to serve out of his mind and put extreme pressure on his opponent, he’s going to be one of the tougher players in this draw. Raonic hopes to make the third round of a grand slam for the 15th time in his last 17th try. Raonic has won six of his last eight matches on grass court.

John Millman is coming off a four sets win over Stefano Travaglia that took 42 games to decide. In the victory, Millman won 77 percent of his first serve points and 73 percent of his second serve points. Millman won 75 percent of his overall service points and hit 36 winners. Millman was broken just twice in his first round victory and got 60 percent of his first serves in play. While he can clean up the 25 unforced errors, it was a promising performance from Millman and one that should give him confidence moving forward in this tournament. If Millman can serve at a high level and create game pressure, he’s got a shot here. Millman has a chance to make the third round of a grand slam for the fourth time in his career. Millman is now 4-3 in his career in Wimbledon matches. Millman has won five of his last seven matches on grass court.

There’s no previous meetings between these two players.

Millman has a shot to steal a set if he can continue to serve well, but Raonic is going to win this match. Raonic is playing his best tennis of the season on grass and is coming off one of the more complete performances of the year. When Raonic is hitting his spots and playing with confidence, he’s a handful to deal with for anybody. Millman, a guy who has little to no grand slam success, isn’t going to be the player to snap this hot streak.

The Canadian cruises to the third round.
