In the 2019 ATP Stuttgart Open, Hungarian tennis player Marton Fucsovics has made it into the quarterfinals. Fucsovics will be playing against Milos Raonic from Canada.
Marton Fucsovics was outstanding in the previous round as he defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in 3 sets. It was a close match where Fucsovics lost the opening set but the Hungarian fought back strongly to win the final 2 sets and take the match. Throughout the match against Nikoloz Basilashvili, Marton Fucsovics received serve exceptionally well. Fucsovics won 41% of his receiving points which allowed him to win 5 return games. Fucsovics has a good record on grass and he seems to be playing with great confidence in this tournament. This will be another tough match for Marton Fucsovics as he is playing against a very experienced opponent in Milos Raonic.
On the other side of the court, Milos Raonic had a big win in the previous round as he eliminated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. It was a 3 set match which contained 2 tiebreakers meaning that Raonic had to overcome high pressure points to get the victory. During the win against Tsonga, Milos Raonic served exceptionally well. Raonic hit 23 aces and won 72% of his service points. Raonic won all of his service games and 1 return game to secure the victory. Milos Raonic has always been very strong on grass as he finished second at Wimbledon in 2016. Raonic has a good record at the Stuttgart Open which is shown by the fact that he made the final last season. This could be a challenging match for Milos Raonic but considering his record on grass, he will be confident in his ability to win.
Milos Raonic and Marton Fucsovics have played each other once in the past. The match was last season at this tournament where Milos Raonic won in straight sets.
Marton Fucsovics has been very good throughout this tournament but I see him losing this match. Milos Raonic is outstanding on grass and I don’t see Fucsovics being good enough to compete against the Canadian player’s serve. Raonic made the final of this event in 2018 and I see him continuing his good record at this venue by winning this match.
