Canadian tennis superstar, Milos Raonic will begin his 2019 ATP Miami  Masters campaign in the second round where he will face Maximilian Marterer from Germany.

Maximilian Marterer had a relatively tough opening round fixture where he had to battle for 3 sets to defeat Taylor Fritz. It was a close contest which involved two very strong servers. Marterer served exceptionally well during the win as he won 73% of his service points which allowed him to win 93% of his service games. This will be a tougher match for Maximilian Marterer as he is playing a much more accomplished player in Milos Raonic.

On the other side of the coin, Milos Raonic received an opening round bye due to his high seeding. It has been a very strong few weeks for Milos Raonic as he made the semifinals of the ATP Indian Wells Open prior to arriving at Miami. Milos Raonic has a strong record at the Miami Masters with a win rate of 74% at this tournament. Raonic made the quarterfinals of this event last season and considering his recent form, the Canadian will be confident about making a bigger impact this time around.

This will be the first time that Milos Raonic and Maximilian Marterer will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Maximilian Marterer had a very strong win in the opening round but I see his tournament ending after this match. Milos Raonic is a much stronger player and he enters this match in very good form following a very impressive Indian Wells Open campaign. Both Raonic and Marterer play in a similar manner as they both rely on their big serves. That being said, Raonic is simply better at this particular style of play. With that in mind, I am picking Milos Raonic to win this match and make it into the third round.
