Milos Raonic has made it into the quarterfinals of the 2019 ATP Indian Wells Open in California. Raonic will compete against Miomir Kecmanović from Serbia for a spot in the final 4.
Miomir Kecmanović made it through the fourth round with ease after his opponent retired. Miomir Kecmanović won the opening set 6-4 after which his opponent retired. It was solid performance during the first set by Kecmanović as he won 80% of his service games and 2 break points. This will be the first major test for Miomir Kecmanović as it will be the first time that the Serb is playing an opponent who is seeded above 20.
On the other side of the coin, Milos Raonic had an easy win in the previous round as he beat Jay-Lennard Struff in straight sets. During the win, Raonic hit 12 aces while winning 77% of his service points. Milos Raonic won all of his serve games and broke his opponent’s serve on 2 occasions to set up the overall win. It has been a good 2019 season for Milos Raonic as he made the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the ATP Brisbane International.
Miomir Kecmanović and Milos Raonic has have played each other once in the past. The match between Milos Raonic and Miomir Kecmanović was earlier in the season at the Brisbane International where Raonic won in straight sets.
Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Milos Raonic to win. Miomir Kecmanović has had a strong tournament but his road to this stage of the tournament has been relatively easy as the had not played anybody ranked above 30 so far. Raonic is a level above the players Miomir Kecmanović has been playing. Furthermore, Raonic recently beat Miomir Kecmanović so it only seems logical that the Canadian will win again.
