Miomir Kecmanovic and Roberto Bautista-Agut meet in the third round of the 2019 tennis Cincinnati Open.
Miomir Kecmanovic is coming off a three sets win over Alexander Zverev that took 31 games to decide. In the victory, Kecmanovic won 75 percent of his first serve points and 41 percent of his second serve points. Kecmanovic won 64 percent of his total service points and converted on six of his eight break points. Kecmanovic got 66 percent of his first serves in play, saved three of his six break points and hit three aces. Kecmanovic has now won seven of his last 10 matches that have gone the distance. Kecmanovic looks to win three straight matches for the first time since Antalya back in June. Kecmanovic looks to make his second career quarterfinal in a Masters 1000. Kecmanovic has won eight of his last 10 matches on hard court.
Roberto Bautista-Agut is coming off a three sets win over Frances Tiafoe that took 25 games to decide. In the victory, Bautista-Agut won 73 percent of his first serve points and 45 percent of his second serve points. Bautista-Agut won 65 percent of his total service points and converted on three of his four break points. Bautista-Agut got 69 percent of his first serves in play, saved six of his seven break points and hit eight aces. It was a rare victory for Bautista-Agut that went the distance, as he’s now lost seven of his last nine matches that needed an extra set. Bautista-Agut hopes to win three matches for the third time in his last four tournaments. Bautista-Agut hopes to make his fifth career Masters 1000 quarterfinal and first in Cincinnati. Bautista-Agut has won five of his last six matches on hard court.
There’s no match history between these two players.
Bautista-Agut had almost zero success in Cincinnati before this tournament, but he’s played well the past couple of months so this run shouldn’t be surprising. Kecmanovic has beaten back-to-back respectable young talented players to get to this point, but he’s left the door open in both matches with a questionable serve. I expect the experience and the craftiness of Bautista-Agut to prevail.
The Spaniard makes the quarters of Cincinnati for the first time.
