Ugo Humbert meets Miomir Kecmanovic in the quarterfinals of the 2020 New York Open.
Ugo Humbert has started 2020 really well. The Frenchman has already won a title this year, and the way he is playing on hard courts is very fun to watch. Humbert came through to quarterfinals by beating Giron in straight sets. Humbert will look to challenge for the title here, and I believe he has a pretty good shot at doing so.
Miomir Kecmanovic is also an up and coming player who shows a lot of promise. Kecmanovic is very solid from the baseline and is a able to dictate play during matches. This was seen through his straight sets victory over Lorenzi on Wednesday. Kecmanovic will want to prove a point in 2020, and he might be able to do so.
This will be the third meeting between both players, with Kecmanovic winning all of their previous matchups. Kecmanovic seems to have Humbert's number. Humbert is a great player, and he could extend this match to 3 sets, but looking at Kecmanovic's dominance in their prior encounters makes me think this match will go the same way.
Kecmanovic to win.
