Australian tennis superstar, Nick Kyrgios, will begin his Wimbledon campaign against Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan. Both these players have been on the ATP tour for a while and it is clear that neither will be flattered by the occasion. It will good viewing to see which one of these two players will win this opening round match.
Nick Kyrgios had a deep run at the Queen’s Club Championship reaching the semi-final stage of the competition. That shows that he is in good form and used to the grass courts. The Australian is the 15th seed in this tournament and that suggests that he should breeze through the earlier stages of the tournament. That being said, Nick Kyrgios is known to be erratic and ill-disciplined at times which has cost him in the past. It will be important for Nick Kyrgios to stay focused since he has the potential to go far in this competition.
On the other side of the court, Denis Istomin will know that he is the underdog in this match. The Uzbekistani player is greatly experienced but it seems like he is on the wrong side of his peak. Istomin was once ranked in the top 35 in the world but that was over 6 years ago. Denis Istomin once beat Novak Djokovic and with that knowledge, he will feel that he can upset any tennis player. This time around it will not be easy since he is playing a tennis player that is in great form and strong on the grass courts of Wimbledon.
Taking everything into consideration, I am going to predict that Nick Kyrgios wins this game. The Australian is very strong on grass and it will be very hard for Denis Istomin to compete against the powerful shots that Nick Kyrgios hits.
Looking at betting, we are getting a very poor price to wager on Nick Kyrgios winning this game so I think it is best if we avoid betting on the result of this match. The best wager in the under 3.5 sets. Nick Kyrgios should be far too strong for Denis Istomin and I see this game ending in straight sets.
