Novak Djokovic and Gilles Muller meet Wednesday in the round of 32 at the 2016 Rogers Cup.

Novak Djokovic is playing in his first match since losing in the third round of the Wimbledon. Djokovic is still the top player in the world and has won 15 of his last 17 matches overall. Djokovic could have used the much needed rest as he looked like a guy who was worn out due to all the tennis he’s played and spent a few of his last matches coming back from dropping a set. When healthy and in great form, few can even compete with Djokovic, and he looks for his fourth career Rogers Cup title. Djokovic has won 14 straight matches on hard court.

Gilles Muller looks for another win after beating Dmitry Tursunov in the first round in straight sets. Muller has been a top-40 player for about a year now and hopes to put together some consistent success. Muller has made two final appearances this season but has yet to win a career title. If Muller is serving well and limiting unforced errors, he can compete and is capable of a surprise or two. Muller has seven wins over top-10 players, with the most recent coming against Gilles Simon in 2015. Muller has split his last eight matches on hard court.

These two have played twice and Djokovic has won both meetings in straight sets. The most recent match was in the 2015 French Open. This will be the second match on hard court.

The only thing worse than playing Djokovic is playing him when he’s well rested. Muller didn’t have anything for Djokovic before and that’s not changing now.

Give me Djokovic in straight sets.
