Kevin Anderson is set to play Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the 2018 ATP Shanghai Masters.

Novak Djokovic has been in incredible form and he showed that once against as he won his round of 16 match with ease. Djokovic won all of his service games while only allowing his opponent to win 4 service games in the entire match. Having missed much of the early season due to injury, Djokovic looks to be back to his best and with title wins at Wimbledon, the US Open and the Cincinnati Masters, nobody seems to be able to stop the Serbian superstar. The Shanghai Masters has been one of Djokovic’s most favored events as he has won this tournament 3 times in the past.  With such a strong record and incredible form leading up to this tournament, Djokovic will be the favorite to win this tournament.

Kevin Anderson, in contrasts, will be feeling confident about his chances after beating Djokovic in the Laver Cup a few weeks ago. Anderson won both of his previous matches with ease and the South African is looking in good form. In the past two matches, Anderson has only lost one service game while winning 5 breakpoints. That being said, this will be a much tougher challenge as Kevin Anderson has not played a player with the ability of Djokovic in this tournament.

While Kevin Anderson beat Djokovic at the Laver Cup, he historically has a very poor record against the Serbian. Djokovic and Anderson have played 7 times in the past with Novak Djokovic winning 6 times.

All in all, I am going to predict Novak Djokovic to win this match. Djokovic has been the best player in the world over the past few weeks and he has a great record in Shanghai. Anderson has no big scores in Asia. With a better record, head to head, I see Novak Djokovic winning and getting his 7th win over Kevin Anderson.
