Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will play each other in the final at Wimbledon.
Roger Federer has been in outstanding form and he showed his class in the previous round where he defeated Rafael Nadal in 4 sets. It was a very good match between two exceptional players but Federer’s ability to control rallies was on a different level. During the win, Roger Federer won 89% of his service games and 2 return games.
Roger Federer seems to always be at his best when he is playing at Wimbledon. The Swiss master has an outstanding record at Wimbledon as he has won the title on 8 occasions. Roger Federer has been in very good form prior to this tournament as he won the Halle Open in Germany. In this tournament, Federer has already defeated superstar players like Rafael Nadal and Kei Nishikori. With that in mind, Roger Federer will be optimistic about his chances in this match.
Looking at Novak Djokovic, the Serbian superstar defeated Roberto Bautista Agut in 4 sets in the semifinals. Djokovic was outstanding when receiving serve as the top seed won 39% of his return points which allowed him to break Agut’s serve on 5 occasions.
Djokovic has had a relatively easy run of fixtures in this tournament as he is yet to play against an opponent ranked in the top 20. That being said, Djokovic has been very clinical in his matches as he has been winning with great comfort.
Novak Djokovic also has a very good record at Wimbledon. Djokovic has won the title at Wimbledon on 4 occasions and he is the reigning champion.
Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have played each other 47 occasions. Djokovic has won on 25 occasions while Federer has won 22 times. Djokovic has a 2-1 record against Federer on grass.
This should be a very exciting match since Djokovic and Federer are both playing exceptional tennis. As far as predicting a winner is concerned, I am going to pick Roger Federer to win this match. Federer is outstanding at Wimbledon and the Swiss master looks very dangerous having just beaten Nadal. Djokovic has had an easy run of matches but Federer has beaten some of the best players. Federer’s win over Nadal seems to have given him all the momentum and I see him beating Djokovic and winning his 9th title at Wimbledon.
