In the third round of the 2020 WTA Australian Open, Ekaterina Alexandrova will play against Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic.

Petra Kvitova defeated Paula Badosa in straight sets in the previous round. Both sets were challenging for Kvitova but the Czech superstar showed her class to win. During the victory, Petra Kvitova won 83% of her service games and 4 return games. The receiving was especially strong from Petra Kvitova as she won 44% of her receiving points. Petra Kvitova has an outstanding record in Australia as she has won the Hobart International, Sydney International, and Brisbane International. In addition to that, Petra Kvitova made the final of the Australian Open last season. Kvitova is looking in good touch as she enters this match.

Looking at her opponent, Ekaterina Alexandrova also won her previous match in straight sets. It was a comfortable win for Alexandrova as she won all of her service games and 4 return games. The receiving was very strong form Ekaterina Alexandrova as she won 55% of her receiving points. In addition to that, Alexandrova won over 66% of her service points. Ekaterina Alexandrova has been in outstanding touch as she won the Shenzhen Open prior to arriving in Melbourne. Despite that form, Alexandrova is expected to be challenged in this match since Kvitova is an elite player.

This will be the first time that Petra Kvitova and Ekaterina Alexandrova will be playing each other at a WTA tournament.

This should be a tricky match for Petra Kvitova as she is playing against a tough opponent in Ekaterina Alexandrova. That being said, I see Kvitova winning this match. Kvitova is in outstanding touch and she seems to be playing with huge amounts of confidence. I see this match lasting 3 sets but Kvitova being the eventual winner.
