The Line: -- Over/Under:
Czech tennis superstar, Petra Kvitova has made it into the third round at Wimbledon. At this stage of the tournament, Kvitova will play against Magda Linette from Poland.
Petra Kvitova has looked in very good form throughout this tournament. In the previous round, Kvitova defeated Kristina Mladenovic in straight sets. During the victory, Kvitova impressed with her receiving. Petra Kvitova won 50% of her receiving points which allowed her to break her opponent’s serve on 5 occasions. The serving was also solid from Kvitova as she hit 8 aces which helped her win 80% of her service games.
Petra Kvitova has won both of her matches in straight sets which shows that the Czech superstar is playing good tennis. Wimbledon has always been a strong tournament for Petra Kvitova as she has won the title on 2 occasions.
On the other side of the coin, Magda Linette also won her previous match in straight sets. Linette played well as she won 91% of her service games and 3 return games to defeat Amanda Anisimova. Linette has now won both of her matches in straight sets which should give the Polish player some confidence as she heads into this fixture. That being said, this is expected to be a massive challenge for Magda Linette as she is playing against the number 6 seed.
Magda Linette and Petra Kvitova have played each other once in the past. The match was played in 2016 at the Rogers Cup where Petra Kvitova won in straight sets.
Magda Linette has played well in this tournament but I see her losing this match. Petra Kvitova plays at a different level and she is near impossible to beat when she is playing well. Judging by her previous two matches, Kvitova is in good form and I see her being too good for Linette in this match. With the difference in skill and experience, I am expecting Kvitova to win in straight sets.
