World number 2 from Spain, Rafael Nadal, has made it into the quarterfinals of the 2019 ATP Australian Open. At this stage of the tournament, Nadal is set to face Frances Tiafoe from the United States.

Rafael Nadal won his previous round in straight sets as he beat Tomas Berdych. It was a very dominant performance by Nadal as he won 5 return games while winning 100% of his service games. Nadal has been in very impressive form all tournament as the Spaniard is yet to lose a single set. Nadal struggled in the latter part of 2018 due to injury but considering his results at Melbourne Park this week, it seems like the Spanish superstar is back to his best.

Frances Tiafoe has also had a very strong tournament as the American has already beaten Kevin Anderson and Grigor Dimitrov. In the last round, Tiafoe beat Grigor Dimitrov in 4 sets. It was a tough match for Tiafoe but the American won 5 return games while losing serve only 3 times to secure a big win. This is the furthest that Frances Tiafoe has made it at a Grand Slam event so it will be interesting to see if he is impacted by his lack of experience.

This is set to be the first time that Rafael Nadal and Frances Tiafoe are to play each other at an ATP event.

Frances Tiafoe has impressed over the past few seasons and his results at this event have shown his great talent and skill. That being said, I see Rafael Nadal beating France Tiafoe and winning this match. Nadal is a multiple time Grand Slam winner and has been playing exceptional tennis this tournament. Considering his experience, accomplishments and form, I think Nadal will win this match and make the semifinals.
