Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have been two of the best tennis players of the past decade and both will be remembered as greats of the game. The Serbian superstar and Spanish champion have both won all the trophies and have developed a friendly rivalry along the way. Nadal and Djokovic will meet again at Wimbledon as the pair face each other for a spot in the final. This should be an incredible game of tennis and I am expecting a very close contest.
Rafael Nadal has been in amazing form and will be full of confidence after winning the French Open only one month ago. The Spaniard was dominant for the first four rounds which he followed by winning an epic five-set thriller against Argentine superstar Juan Martin del Potro. It is impressive looking at how well Nadal has managed to maintain his spot at the top of the tennis world and although he hasn’t been as dominant as he was in the French Open, he has still looked very good. On clay, Nadal is unbeatable but on the grass courts of Wimbledon, he has looked weak at times in the past. It will be interesting to see if Novak Djokovic can exploit that.
On the other side of the coin, Novak Djokovic will be determined to win this tournament. It has not been the best 2018 for Novak Djokovic as he has struggled with injury all through the year. That being said, things have looked much better for Novak Djokovic in this tournament and he is looking like a player that is almost back to his best. The Serbian champion has already been very successful at Wimbledon and although Djokovic is best of hard courts, he is still very good playing on grass. Beating Nadal is never easy but Djokovic will not be intimidated because he is as big of a name as his opponent.
This will not be an easy game to predict but I am going to side with Novak Djokovic. The Serbian is looking very good and I think he should have the extra motivation to get the job done. Djokovic should also be fresher since Nadal is coming off a big game against Del Potro.
