Roberta Vinci and Lesia Tsurenko meet in the fourth round of the 2016 US Open.

Roberta Vinci is coming off a three set win over Carina Witthoeft that took 27 games to decide. In the victory, Vinci won 67 of her first serve points and 53 percent of her second serve points. Vinci won the first set 6-0 and hit an impressive 40 winners for the match, something you don’t see the Italian do often. Vinci plays her best grand slam tennis by far at the US Open, and you can tell she’s gaining confidence in her current form. Vinci hopes to make her fourth career grand slam quarterfinal, all of which have come in the US Open. Vinci has won six of her last 10 matches on hard court.

Lesia Tsurenko is coming off a three set victory over Dominika Cibulkova that took 28 games to decide. In the victory, Tsurenko won 58 percent of her first serve points and 28 percent of her second serve points. Tsurenko showed great fight after winning a match in which she dropped the first set, but she’ll have to serve 100 percent better in this match if she hopes to get the biggest victory of her career. Tsurenko is really lucky to win a match in which she had 44 unforced errors and won less than 30 percent of her second serve points. Tsurenko has a chance to make her first grand slam quarterfinal. Tsurenko has won five of her last six matches on hard court.

These two met in Doha on this year, a match Vinci won in straight sets. The match took 15 games to decide.

With the way Vinci plays, she’s going to be a nightmare for Tsurenko. Vinci doesn’t force anything and just keeps the ball in play until her opponent makes the mistake. It’s going to be tough for Tsurenko to keep up. Not to mention the experience gap is quite large between these two.

Look for Vinci to make another US Open quarterfinal.
