Roberto Bautista Agut vs. Márton Fucsovics - 2/8/19 ATP Tour - Sofia Open Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Spanish tennis superstar, Roberto Bautista Agut has continued his incredible form by making the quarterfinals of the 2019 ATP Sofia Open. At this stage of the tournament, Roberto Bautista Agut is set to face Márton Fucsovics from Austria.

Márton Fucsovics won his previous game in 3 sets against Yannick Maden. During the win, Fucsovics received serve exceptionally well as he won 40% of the points played during his opponents serve. Márton Fucsovics won 4 return games which resulted in him winning the overall contest. It is important to note that Márton Fucsovics struggled with his serve as he won less than 70% of his service games. This is expected to be a much tougher match and Márton Fucsovics will have to improve his serve if he wishes to compete with Roberto Bautista Agut.

On the other side of the coin, Roberto Bautista Agut won his previous game with ease. Agut beat Matthew Ebden in 3 sets although the result always seemed easy to predict. During the match, Roberto Bautista Agut 85% of his service games while breaking his opponent’s serve on 4 occasions. Roberto Bautista Agut has been in exceptional form leading up to this tournament as he won the ATP Qatar Open in January where he beat Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka. Agut also had a very strong Australian Open where Marin Cilic and Andy Murray.

This is set to be the first time that Roberto Bautista Agut and Márton Fucsovics will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Roberto Bautista Agut to win this match. Agut is playing exceptional tennis and he is looking high on confidence having recently beaten Novak Djokovic. Roberto Bautista Agut is the stronger player and I see him winning this match with some ease.
