Tennis | Benoit Paire vs Roger Federer
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Roger Federer will be in action as the Swiss master takes on Benoit Paire at ATP Halle in Germany. Both players looked dominant in their opening round games of this competition and as a result, we should be able to watch a great game of tennis.

Benoit Paire looked very dominant in his opening round game as the French superstar won the game in straight sets. Paire has had a decent 2018 but has failed to make really deep runs in competition getting generally eliminated in the second or third round. This will be something that greatly frustrates the man from France and he will be desperate to change it.

On the other side of the coin, Roger Federer is looking very good. While the Swiss master has lost the pace he once had, he is still a very intelligent player and his stroke play is looking as sharp as ever. There is a reason why Roger Federer is the top-ranked player in the world and he is many levels above Benoit Paire. Both players know this and I think that Federer will look to end this game as fast as possible.

Taking everything into consideration, I think we can safely predict that Roger Federer will win this game. The Swiss master is fresher, in better form and more experienced than his opponent. These features should result in an easy win. Unfortunately, we are not getting a good enough price to wager on Federer so it is a bet which I would avoid. The best bet in the under 2.5 sets which should win since I don’t see Federer losing a set in this match.

Pick:
Under 2.5 sets
