Roger Federer and Dusan Lajovic meet in the second round of the 2017 Wimbledon.

Roger Federer is coming off a straight sets win over Alexandr Dolgopolov that took 12 games to decide. In the victory, Federer won 78 percent of his first serve points and 44 percent of his second serve points. Federer only had to play a little over a set before Dolgopolov retired, which is a bonus when you consider the form he’s currently in. The less Federer has to work to chase his first Wimbledon title since 2012, the better his chances are. Federer got 75 percent of his first serves in play despite a limited match, and he’s going to be damn near impossible to beat if he continues to serve at such an elite level. Federer hasn’t lost before the third round of a grand slam since the 2013 Wimbledon. Federer has won six straight matches on grass court.

Dusan Lajovic is coming off a straight sets win over Stefanos Tsitsipas that took 30 games to decide. In the victory, Lajovic won 68 percent of his first serve points and 38 percent of his second serve points. Lajovic got a solid 69 percent of his first serves in play and wasn’t broken once throughout the match. In fact, Lajovic hasn’t been broken once in his last nine sets, and he gives himself a shot at an upset here if he can continue that incredible streak. Lajovic hopes to make the third round of a grand slam for the second time in his career and first time since the 2014 French Open. Lajovic has lost eight of his last 10 matches on grass court.

This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.

Lajovic will have a shot to win a set based on the way he’s serving as of late, but there’s little to no chance he beats a rested Federer who continues to play as flawless tennis as we’ve seen from him in years. He’s too consistent and too experienced to lose to Lajovic, who has won less than 44 percent of his ATP matches.

Federer reaches the third round.
