Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov meet in the fourth round of the 2017 Wimbledon.

Roger Federer is coming off a straight sets win over Mischa Zverev that took 33 games to decide. In the victory, Federer won 83 percent of his first serve points and 71 percent of his second serve points. Federer has now won in last eight matches in straight sets and is fresh off a meeting in which he got 60 percent of his first serves in play and was broken just once. Federer has also combined for 92 winners and 22 unforced errors in his last two matches. Federer looks way too comfortable out there on the court and is going to be very tough to beat if he continues to serve and return at this level. Federer hopes to make a grand slam quarterfinal for a seventh straight try and his 15th Wimbledon quarterfinal of his career. Federer has won eight straight matches on grass court.

Grigor Dimitrov is coming off a two sets win over Dudi Sela that took 14 games to decide. In the victory, Dimitrov won 83 percent of his first serve points and 86 percent of his second serve points. Dimitrov has not dropped a set this tournament and is coming off a match in which he dropped just six service points. Dimitrov has won no less than 46 percent of his return points in his first three matches and has just 48 combined unforced errors. Dimitrov is playing some of the cleanest tennis we’ve seen from him in a while, and that makes him a scary opponent heading into this match. Dimitrov hopes to make his fourth career grand slam quarterfinal and second in the Wimbledon. Dimitrov has won six of his last seven matches on grass court.

These two have played five times and Federer has won all five meetings. The most recent meeting was in the 2016 Australian Open, a match Federer won in four sets. This will be their first match on grass.

Dimitrov is playing improved tennis and has the ability to win a match like this when he shows up the way he has the first three times. However, Federer has had little trouble with Dimitrov in the past, and he’s playing way too consistent to bet against right now. Remember, I had Federer winning this title before the tournament, so I’m not picking against him unless I see some flaws in his game from match to match.

Federer advances to another Wimbledon quarterfinal.
