Swiss tennis superstar, Roger Federer has made into the second round at Wimbledon. Federer will now play against Jay Clarke from the United Kingdom.

Roger Federer had a comfortable win in the opening round as he defeated Lloyd Harris in 4 sets. Federer had a poor start to the match as he lost the opening set but the Swiss superstar turned up his intensity to ease home by winning the next 3 sets with ease. During the win, Roger Federer won 94% of his service and 6 return games.

Roger Federer has been in outstanding form as he won the Halle Open prior to arriving at Wimbledon. Federer has an outstanding record at Wimbledon as he has won the title on 8 occasions. Wimbledon is Federer’s strongest Grand Slam tournament.

Considering Federer’s recent form and record at Wimbledon, he will be tough to stop.

On the other side of the coin, Jay Clarke defeated Noah Rubin in 4 sets. During the win, Clarke received serve exceptionally well as he won 40% of his receiving points which allowed him to win 6 return games. It has not been a good few weeks for Jay Clarke as the Brit had not won a single match between the French Open and the start of Wimbledon. This will be an extremely tough match for Clarke as he is playing against the number 2 seed.

This will be the first time that Jay Clarke and Roger Federer will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Jay Clarke had a big win in the previous round but I see the Brit losing this match. Clarke is only 20 and he lacks the experience of going far at a Grand Slam event. Furthermore, he is playing against Federer. Federer still seems to be playing his best tennis and the Swiss superstar looks in outstanding form. Federer is a significantly stronger player and I see him winning this match with some ease.
