The Line: -- Over/Under:
Swiss tennis master, Roger Federer has made it into the second round of the 2019 ATP French Open. Roger Federer will now play against Oscar Otte from Germany.
Oscar Otte had an impressive win in the opening round as he won his match in 4 sets. During the win, Otte was very impressive while returning serve. Oscar Otte won almost 50% of his receiving points which resulted in the German player winning 8 return games. In addition to that, Otte also won 88% of his service games to ensure the result was secure. It is very clear that this is going to be a significantly tougher match for Otte and he will have to be at his best if he wishes to compete in this fixture.
On the other side of the coin, Roger Federer won his previous match in straight sets. Federer looked very comfortable during the win as he won 93% of his service games and 5 break points. Federer has had a very strong 2019 season as he has won the likes of the Dubai Tennis Championship and the Miami Masters. This tournament is a return to Roland Garros for Federer as he has not played at this event since 2015. While the French Open has not been Federer’s strongest tournament, the Swiss superstar has won this title on 4 occasions so he should not take long to adjust to the conditions.
This will be the first time that Oscar Otte and Roger Federer will be playing each other at an ATP event.
Oscar Otte played very well in the previous round but I don’t see the German having enough to beat Roger Federer. Federer started the clay season slowly but the Swiss master seems to be back to his best on this surface following decent runs in Madrid and Rome. With that in mind, I see Roger Federer winning this match in straight sets.
