Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer will play at the 2019 Miami Masters where he will begin his campaign in the second round against Radu Albot from Moldova.
Roger Federer has had an incredible few weeks as he won his 100th ATP title at the Dubai Tennis Championships and came close to winning his 101st ATP title as he finished second at the Indian Wells Open. It has been an impressive 2019 season for Federer as he is 12-2 for the season and he has been pushing the likes of Nadal and Djokovic in an attempt to regain top spot on the ATP rankings. Roger Federer’s record at the Miami Open is very impressive as he has won the title 3 times in the past. The most recent title win for Federer at the Miami Open was in 2017 where he beat Rafael Nadal in straight sets in the final.
On the other side of the coin, Radu Albot will enter this match knowing that he is facing one of the best players of all-time. Albot won his opening round match against Matthew Ebden. It was a very convincing win as Albot won the opening set 6-0 and led the second set 3-2 when his opponent retired. This will be a very tough match for Albot and he will have to be at his best if he wishes to compete.
This will be the first time that Roger Federer and Radu Albot will be playing each other at an ATP event.
Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Roger Federer to win this match. Roger Federer is a better player and has been in much better form when compared to Radu Albot. Federer has an exceptional record at Miami and I see him improving on that by winning this match and making the third round.
