The Line: -- Over/Under:
Serena Williams is set to play against Bianca Andreescu in the final of the 2019 US Open.
Serena Williams was exceptional in the previous round as she defeated Elina Svitolina in straight sets. It was a dominant performance by Serena as she easily beat an elite player. During the win, Williams only lost 4 service games. During the win, Serena Williams served exceptionally well as she won 75% of her service points which allowed her to win all of her service games. In addition to that, Serena also served strongly as she won 4 return games. This is the best chance Serena Williams will have to win her 24th Grand Slam and I am expecting the American to be determined to Margaret Court’s record.
On the other side of the coin, Bianca Andreescu has made it through to her first Grand Slam final. It has been an outstanding tournament for Andreescu and she continued her supreme form in the previous round as she Belinda Bencic in straight sets. During the win, Bianca Andreescu won 75% of her service games and 4 return games. It has been an outstanding season for Bianca Andreescu as she recently won the Rogers Cup. This is the biggest match in Bianca Andreescu’s career so far and it will be interesting to see how she handles the pressure of playing against Serena.
Serena Williams and Bianca Andreescu met in the final of the Rogers Cup only weeks ago. It was a match that Andreescu won after Serena retired early in the contest due to injury.
This is a match between a tennis legend and a future superstar. Bianca Andreescu has been exceptional in 2019 and she has managed to beat most of the elite players in the world. That being said, I see Serena Williams winning this match. Serena has failed to win her past few Grand Slam finals but the American seems much more prepared and focused on this occasion. Serena Williams was outstanding against Svitolina and I see her being good enough to win this match and her 24th Grand Slam.
