Serena Williams and Madison Keys meet in the fourth round of the 2015 US Open.

Serena Williams is coming off a three set win over Bethanie Mattek-Sands and has played seven sets this tournament. Serena is winning at least 81 percent of her first serve points and 36 percent of her second serve points. Serena has produced 20 aces, 88 winners and 66 unforced errors in her first three matches. Serena did a great job of bouncing back after a big time scare, winning her last set 6-0. The nerves are getting to Serena a little bit and she can play tight at times but has done a solid job of bouncing back when needed. Serena has been bounced in a grand slam before the quarterfinals just eight times since 2007. Serena has been eliminated before the quarters of the US Open just three times in her career.

Madison Keys is coming off a straight sets win over Agnieszka Radwanska and has played six sets this tournament. Keys is winning at least 68 percent of her first serve points and 36 percent of her second serve points. Keys has produced 22 aces, 65 winners and 57 unforced errors in her first three matches. Keys is quickly growing up before our eyes at 20 years old and is starting to fulfil expectations of being the next American star. Keys has yet to be tested this tournament and should be fresh for this match. Keys has made the quarterfinals of a grand slam twice in her career, both which came this season. This is the furthest Keys has ever been at the US Open.

This is just the second time these two will meet, as Serena beat Keys in this years Australian Open in three sets. The first set between these two was decided by a tiebreak. This will be the second time Williams and Keys play on hard court.

This should be a hell of a match with Keys quickly taking her game to another level this season. There’s no doubt Keys has future grand slam titles under her belt. However, this is simply Serena’s time, as I don’t see anyone preventing a calendar grand slam. Close and competitive match, but the edge has to go to Serena.
