Stephens won 67 percent of her total service points and produced five breaks on 23 break points. Stephens has given herself 39 break points in her first two matches and has lost a combined 10 games in four sets. Stephens looks like the player she’s been in recent grand slams, which is a dangerous, dangerous contender to win it all. Stephens hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the fourth time in her last six appearances. Stephens hasn’t made the fourth round of the Australian Open sine 2014. Stephens has split her last six matches on hard court.

These two have played once, which was in 2013 in Cincinnati, a match Stephens won in three sets. The match took 26 games to be decided.

Martic usually fizzles out of grand slam tournaments around this time and has had very little success against top tier players throughout her career. Stephens has played at a high level through her first two matches and has become a consistent player on the big stage these last couple of years. There’s no reason to pick against the American in this match.

Stephens rolls in straight sets.
