Paire won 73 percent of his total service points and converted on one of his three break points. Paire got 48 percent of his first serves in play, saved his only break point and hit 12 aces. Paire has lost four of his last six matches on hard court.
Paire won the only meeting, which came in 2017 Metz, a match decided in straight sets and 18 games.
Paire is playing his best tennis in quite some time in term of results, but he’s had issues with his serve this tournament and that’s not going to fly as the competition increases. You’re not beating Tsitsipas when getting less than 50 percent of your first serves in play. Paire has also had 17 double faults in his last two matches. Good players make you pay for those mistakes.
Tsitsipas makes the semifinals.
