The Line: -- Over/Under:
American tennis player, Taylor Fritz has made it into quarterfinals at the 2019 ATP Atlanta Open. At this stage of the tournament, Taylor Fritz will play against Miomir Kecmanovic from Serbia.
Miomir Kecmanovic had a solid win in the previous round where he defeated the number 8 seed in straight sets. It was a dominant display by the Serbian as Miomir Kecmanovic only lost 4 games in the entire match. During the win, Kecmanovic impressed with his receiving. Miomir Kecmanovic won 50% of his return points which allowed him to break his opponent’s serve on 4 occasions. The serving was also impressive from Miomir Kecmanovic has he won all of his service games. Miomir Kecmanovic has been in very good form recently as the Serb made the final of the Antalya Open in June. That being said, this is expected to be a tough match since Miomir Kecmanovic is playing against the number 2 seed.
Looking at Taylor Fritz, the American defeated Kevin King in straight sets in the previous round. It was a simple victory for Fritz as he won 89% of his service games and 4 return games. Taylor Fritz seems to be returning serve well which indicated the American is playing good tennis. Fritz is always a strong server but when he is receiving well, it indicated his balance, movement, and shot selection are good.
Taylor Fritz has been getting huge support from the crowd as he is playing on home soil. Similar to Miomir Kecmanovic, Taylor Fritz has also been in very good form as he recently won the Eastbourne International.
Miomir Kecmanovic and Taylor Fritz have played each other once in the past. The match was played earlier in the season at Newport where Taylor Fritz won in 3 sets.
This should be a very close match since Miomir Kecmanovic and Taylor Fritz are both playing exceptional tennis. That being said, I am going to pick Taylor Fritz to win this match. Taylor Fritz has looked in outstanding form and I see him having an advantage since he is playing on home soil. It will not be an easy win but I see Fritz being good enough to secure a spot in the semifinals.
