Tennys Sandgren looks to maintain his Australian Open form as he meets Frances Tiafoe in the first-round of the 2020 Delray Beach Open.

Frances Tiafoe had a pretty underwhelming start to 2020. The young star lost in the first-round of the Australian Open, and has not seemed to find his form as he has lost a few matches to very low ranked players in Challenger level tournaments. Tiafoe is a great player, who just needs to find a focus in his game in order to achieve some consistency. Tiafoe's flamboyant style of play is fun to watch and it will be interesting to see how he improves his game in 2020. Tiafoe is more than capable of getting on the level of other players such as Tsitsipas or Zverev.

Tennys Sandgren was so close to achieving another Grand Slam semi-final when he played Roger Federer in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Australian Open, Sandgren impressed in Australia, he was able to dictate play and move opponents around the court. Sandgren has a lot of experience and he loves playing on hard-courts. Tennys Sandgren could win this tournament if he finds consistency in his game, and if he continues his form from Australia, he can achieve even more.

These two players have met once before, with Tiafoe winning in Estoril in 2018. However, this time around I believe things will be very different. Tiafoe has been struggling to find form, he has lost some bad matches and his confidence will be running very low. On the other hand, Sandgren made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, and nearly beat Roger Federer to get to the semifinals. Look for Sandgren to bring back that consistency to Delray Beach and book his spot in the second-round.

Tennys Sandgren to win.
