Tomas Berdych and Malek Jaziri square off in the second round of the 2016 French Open.

Tomas Berdych is coming off a straight sets victory over Vasek Pospisil that took 24 games to decide. In the victory, Berdych won 72 percent of his first serve points and 58 percent of his second serve points. Berdych simply dominated the match, as he lost just three games in the last two sets and had 15 unforced errors overall. Berdych is also capable of playing better, as he got just 56 percent of his first serves in play, a percentage he’s capable of improving. Berdych has been hit or miss this season but is still a top-10 player and is dangerous when controlling his service game. Berdych has made at least the third round in 11 straight grand slam appearances.

Malek Jaziri is coming off a four set win over Florian Mayer that took 34 games to decide. In the victory, Jaziri won 68 percent of his first serve points and 56 percent of his second serve points. Jaziri hit 32 winners and had just 20 unforced errors, a combination that will take the Tunisian far. Jaziri has won 11 of his last 15 matches when you include Challenger play so he has to be rather confident entering this match. A victory here would easily be the biggest win of Jaziri’s career at 32 years old. Jaziri has made the third round of a grand slam just once in his career, which was the 2015 Australian Open.

This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.

Jaziri is going to struggle with the power and length of Berdych. He’s also never had any real success in spots like this or against players ranked this high. This could be another quick three set match.

Look for Berdych to advance.
