Venus Williams and Ana Konjuh meet in the fourth round of the 2017 Wimbledon.

Venus Williams is coming off a straight sets win over Naomi Osaka that took 23 games to decide. In the victory, Venus won 82 percent of her first serve points and 61 percent of her second serve points. Venus is coming off her best serving performance of the tournament by far, as she lost just seven first serve points and had five aces. Venus also had just 14 unforced errors in her third round victory, which is key considering that’s where the 37-year-old can struggle and give away crucial points. Venus hopes to make her fifth grand slam quarterfinal since 2015. Venus also hopes to make her 13th Wimbledon quarterfinal of her career. Venus has won 10 of her last 12 matches on grass court.

Ana Konjuh is coming off a three sets win over Dominika Cibulkova that took 32 games to decide. In the victory, Konjuh won 66 percent of her first serve points and 48 percent of her second serve points. Konjuh managed to win 45 percent of her return points in her third round victory and produced an impressive 54 winners. Konjuh has gone for broke in her last two matches, and while the errors have piled up, she has hit 88 winners in her last six sets. As long as Konjuh can continue hitting her spots with consistency, she has a shot to make an even deeper grand slam run. Konjuh hopes to make her second career grans slam quarterfinal and first since last years US Open. Konjuh has won five of her last seven matches on grass court.

This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.

Konjuh has the power and the shotmaking ability to give Venus a run for her money. This is going to be a fun match. However, Venus is coming off her best performance yet and has a knack for getting better as the tournament goes along. Also, Venus is smart enough to not allow Konjuh to square up winners and takeover the match. I like the American to keep Konjuh on the run and limit her power shots.

Close match, but I give the edge to Venus.
