Chinese tennis player, Zhang Shuai has made it into the fourth round at Wimbledon. At this stage of the tournament, Zhang will play against Dayana Yastremska from Ukraine.

Zhang Shuai had a big win in the previous round as she defeated Caroline Wozniacki. During the victory, Zhang received serve exceptionally well. Zhang Shuai won 54% of her receiving points which allowed her to break Caroline Wozniacki’s serve on 6 occasions. It is important to note that Zhang Shuai struggled with her serve as she lost 33% of her service games. That being said, Zhang Shuai did enough to win the match.

It has been a good tournament for Zhang Shuai as she has won all of her matches in straight sets. Zhang has already defeated both Caroline Wozniacki and Caroline Garcia in this tournament. This is the deepest run that Zhang Shuai has made at Wimbledon.

Dayana Yastremska also won her previous match in straight sets as she defeated Viktorija Golubic. Similar to Zhang, Dayana Yastremska impressed with her receiving. Dayana Yastremska won 50% of her return points which resulted in her winning 5 return games. Dayana Yastremska won 72% of her service games.

It has been a solid tournament for Yastremska as she defeated Sofia Kenin in the second round. Dayana Yastremska is only 19 and this is her best performance at a Grand Slam event.

Dayana Yastremska and Zhang Shuai have played each other once in the past. The match was played in 2018 at Hong Kong where Dayana Yastremska won in straight sets.

Neither player has made it this far at Wimbledon so both players are expected to see this match as a big occasion. As far as predicting a winner is concerned, I am going to side with Zhang Shuai. Zhang has been playing on the WTA tour for a much greater amount of time and I see that added experience being vital in this match. Zhang has had an outstanding tournament and her confidence will be high having beaten both Carolina Garcia and Caroline Wozniacki. With all that in mind, I see Zhang Shuai winning this match and reaching the quarterfinals.

Pick:
Zhang Shuai
