The Washington Mystics and Connecticut Sun meet Tuesday in WNBA action at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Washington Mystics look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. Elena Delle Donne is averaging 20.5 points and 7.4 rebounds while Kristi Toliver is averaging 14 points and 4.6 assists. Ariel Atkins is the third double-digit scorer and LaToya Sanders is grabbing 5.9 rebounds. The Washington Mystics are shooting 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 85.4 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Mystics are allowing 34.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32.8 rebounds per game. The Washington Mystics have split their last six road games.
The Connecticut Sun could also use a win here after splitting their last six games. The Connecticut Sun are averaging 85.4 points on 45 percent shooting and allowing 81.6 points on 44.1 percent shooting. Chiney Ogwumike is averaging 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds while Courtney Williams is averaging 12.5 points and 2.9 assists. Jasmine Thomas is the third double-digit scorer and Alyssa Thomas is dishing 4.5 assists. The Connecticut Sun are shooting 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.9 percent from the free throw line. The Connecticut Sun are allowing 35.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 37 rebounds per game. The Connecticut Sun have lost three of their last four home games.
The Mystics are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 Tuesday games, 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Eastern Conference. The Sun are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. Eastern Conference, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Mystics are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Connecticut.
It's hard to turn down free points with the Washington Mystics due to their offensive ability, especially when they've won the last two meetings against the Sun and the last contest was a 12-point blowout. However, the Connecticut Sun seem to be slowly getting back on track, as they've won three of their last five games and just blew the doors off the Dallas Stars on the road in what was one of the most impressive wins to me recently for any team. I still have my doubts with Connecticut overall, but this is a game it should be able to win, especially with the Mystics being so hit or miss this season.
