The Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings meet Saturday in WNBA action at the College Park Center.
The Atlanta Dream could use a win here to snap a four-game losing streak. The Atlanta Dream are averaging 69 points on 36.6 percent shooting and allowing 81.4 points on 42.8 percent shooting. Brittney Sykes is averaging 12 points and 2.4 assists while Tiffany Hayes is averaging 9.2 points and 2.8 rebounds. Renee Montgomery is dishing three assists and Jessica Breland is grabbing seven rebounds. The Atlanta Dream are shooting 23.2 percent from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free throw line. The Atlanta Dream are allowing 31.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.6 rebounds per game. The Atlanta Dream have won seven of their last nine road games.
The Dallas Wings also need a win to rebound from a brutal 0-5 start to the season. The Dallas Wings are averaging 67.4 points on 38.1 percent shooting and allowing 77.4 points on 42.1 percent shooting. Kayla Thornton is averaging 11 points and 5.6 rebounds while Allisha Gray is averaging nine points and 2.8 assists. Arike Ogunbowale is dishing 1.5 assists and Glory Johnson is grabbing 7.4 rebounds. The Dallas Wings are shooting 26.1 percent from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent from the free throw line. The Dallas Wings are allowing 30.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34 rebounds per game. The Dallas Wings have lost six of their last seven home games.
The Dream are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wings are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games, 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Dallas and 24-7 in the last 31 meetings. The under is 5-0 in Wings last 5 overall. The under is 4-1 in Dream last 5 overall.
I've said that the Dallas Wings have been had and shoulders the worst team in the league up to this point, but they did show progress in their last game against Indiana. Dallas also took the Dream down to the wire on the road in their season opener. The Atlanta Dream haven't been much better this season and seem to be getting worse and worse offensively, which includes just 59 points against Connecticut in their last game. The home team has also won eight of the last nine meetings between the Dream and Wings. I don't love it, but I'm leaning toward the free bucket here.
