LEAGUE PASS, MONUMENTAL
The Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics meet Tuesday in WNBA action at the Capital One Arena.
The Las Vegas Aces look for a bounce back performance after getting waxed in their season opener against the Connecticut Sun, 101-65. The Las Vegas Aces are averaging 65 points on 26.1 percent shooting and allowing 101 points on 47.4 percent shooting. Tamera Young is averaging 23 points and four rebounds while A'ja Wilson is averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds. Nia Coffey is the third double-digit scorer and Lindsay Allen is grabbing five rebounds. The Las Vegas Aces are shooting 14.3 percent from beyond the arc and 82.4 percent from the free throw line. The Las Vegas Aces are allowing 52.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41 rebounds per game. The Las Vegas Aces have lost eight of their last 10 road games.
The Washington Mystics look for a quick 2-0 start to the season after beating the Indiana Fever in their opener, 82-75. The Washington Mystics are averaging 82 points on 43.5 percent shooting and allowing 75 points on 41.8 percent shooting. Kristi Toliver is averaging 16 points and two rebounds while Elena Delle Donne is averaging 13 points and seven assists. Monique Currie is the third double-digit scorer and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt is grabbing five rebounds. The Washington Mystics are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 64 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Mystics are allowing 44 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39 rebounds per game. The Washington Mystics have split their last eight regular season home games.
The Aces are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games, 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference. The Mystics are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Tuesday games, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Aces are 10-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Washington, 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
This line is out of hand due to the Las Vegas Aces getting slapped around in their opener, and it's going to take some time before this young squad becomes something. The Mystics are argubly the most explosive offensive team in the league and has the ability to blow teams out. However, the Mystics also have issues at times defensively and can allow teams to hang around. I'm just not laying 16 points. Washington has failed to cover its last four games as a double-digit favorite. Give me both underdogs for Tuesday's WNBA card.
