The Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty meet Sunday in WNBA action at the Westchester County Center.
The Atlanta Dream look to keep the ball rolling after winning 13 of their last 14 games. The Atlanta Dream are averaging 80.9 points on 42.5 percent shooting and allowing 78.9 points on 41.9 percent shooting. Tiffany Hayes is averaging 17.6 points and 2.6 assists while Renee Montgomery is averaging 9.5 points and 3.6 assists. Elizabeth Williams is grabbing 5.7 rebounds and Jessica Breland is dishing 2.1 assists. The Atlanta Dream are shooting 30.5 percent from beyond the arc and 74.8 percent from the free throw line. The Atlanta Dream are allowing 32.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.1 rebounds per game. The Atlanta Dream have won five straight road games.
The New York Liberty could use a victory here in order to snap an eight-game losing streak. The New York Liberty are averaging 78.1 points on 43.2 percent shooting and allowing 84.8 points on 43.9 percent shooting. Tina Charles is averaging 19.9 points and 7.1 rebounds while Kia Nurse is averaging 8.7 points and 1.4 assists. Bria Hartley is dishing 3.8 assists and Amanda Zahui B. is grabbing three rebounds. The New York Liberty are shooting 32.3 percent from beyond the arc and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. The New York Liberty are allowing 35.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.7 rebounds per game. The New York Liberty have lost four straight home games.
The Dream are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 Sunday games, 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games and 14-2 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Liberty are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Sunday games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Dream are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings in New York, 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the under is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings in New York.
I'm not sure why anybody would bet on the New York Liberty with the way they've played all season, and I'm certainly not sure why anybody would fade the Atlanta Dream. Even without one of their top players, the Dream remain the hottest team in the league and are covering majority of these numbers in the process. The Liberty have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Dream, but they're also being outscored by 5.1 points at home this season and 9.6 points in their last five games overall. Getting the Dream and the cheap chalk seems like a steal, even if they're on the end of a back to back.
