The Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
The Chicago Sky look for their first road win of the season to get a game above a .500 record. The Chicago Sky are averaging 77 points on 45.7 percent shooting and allowing 84 points on 41.5 percent shooting. Allie Quigley is averaging 17.5 points and 2.5 assists while Diamond DeShields is averaging 10.5 points and three rebounds. Courtney Vandersloot is dishing 9.5 assists and Jantel Lavender is grabbing five rebounds. The Chicago Sky are shooting 28.6 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free throw line. The Chicago Sky are allowing 25 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33 rebounds per game. The Chicago Sky have split their last eight road games.
The Washington Mystics look for another home win to get a game above a .500 record. The Washington Mystics are averaging 82.5 points on 46.8 percent shooting and allowing 79.5 points on 42.9 percent shooting. Elena Delle Donne is averaging 18 points and seven rebounds while Ariel Atkins is averaging 15.5 points and two assists. Emma Meesseman is the third double-digit scorer and Kristi Toliver is dishing four assists. The Washington Mystics are shooting 26.1 percent from beyond the arc and 82.1 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Mystics are allowing 26.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36 rebounds per game. The Washington Mystics have won their last five home games.
The Sky are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Wednesday games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Mystics are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 3 or more days rest. The Sky are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Washington and 0-8 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The over is 4-1 in Mystics last 5 home games. The over is 3-1-1 in Sky last 5 overall.
The Washington Mystics have beaten the hell out of the Chicago Sky, which includes seven straight victories and winning those games by an average of 22.1 points. It's like ever since the Sky and Elena Delle Donne had their falling out, the Mystics have made sure to stand up for their teammate and knock the snot out of her former team whenever they see it. The Sky should be a better team than last year, but I'm not sure how much better when you see what the Mystics did to the Atlanta Dream with a full roster. Throw in the recent history between these teams, and it's hard to turn down Washington in another blowout. When the Washington Mystics are rolling, they're going to blow the doors off a lot of teams, as not many teams in this league can score 80-plus at the drop of a hat. I hate massive chalk, but I'm leaning towards a comfortable victory for the home team.
