The second game on Friday’s NRL slate sees the reigning premiers the Sydney Roosters take on the St George Dragons at Bankwest Stadium.

Roosters are undefeated since the season resumed and have looked every bit as strong as the team that has dominated the league over the past 2 seasons. In their last game, against the ladder leading Eels, there was not much separating both teams until the Roosters took over in the last quarter. Roosters won the contest 24-10 running in 16 unanswered points in the last 20mins to hand the Eels their first loss of the season. Brett Morris, Boyd Cordner and Daniel Tupou were among their try scorers while Kyle Flanagan converted 2/3 and kicked 4 penalty goals in the win. As a team, they completed 90% of their sets while flipping the field with a solid kicking game.

Dragons have now won two straight after taking care of the Titans 20-8. Zac Lomax had a good game scoring a game high 12 points with 1 try, 3 conversions and a penalty goal. Dragons recorded 30 tackle busts and 4 line breaks in the win. The last two games no doubt would have boosted this team’s confidence, who has a strong roster on paper, however, they have struggled against the better teams in the league and it does not getting any more difficult than a resurgent Roosters.

I have to take the Roosters here. The Dragons will not match up well enough here and they will struggle to put points up. Roosters will take no prisoners as they look to move themselves up the ladder.
