Saturday NRL action sees a local derby between the Brisbane Broncos and the Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium.

Queensland teams have struggled over the last 4 rounds combining for a total of 2 wins. Brisbane find themselves in unusual circumstances staring down the barrel of 0-5 since the recommencement should they not be able to chalk up the win here. In their last start against Newcastle, the Broncos had no answers. Their only try, a solo intercept try from winger Xavier Coates against the run of play. Brisbane’s forwards look as though they were ‘stuck in the mud’ in the performance with no one seemingly prepared to put their hand up and lead the team. Newly acquired dummy half Isaac Luke was ineffective in the middle and the halves lack cohesion.

Titans have been a train wreck this season. 1 win to their name with the majority of their losses coming by significant margins. They lack punch in the forwards having multiple players who can bend a line but no one able to consistently break the line. They continue to experiment in the halves with rookie Jamal Fogarty showing glimpses of what he can do, that being said a sub-par support cast restrains him. In the loss vs the Dragons, they allowed 4 line breaks and 30 tackle busts while committing 13 errors. It will be a long season for the Titans.

I will have to side with the Broncos here. I do not love this game but pound for pound the Broncos are the better side and I think this is a good spot for them to get the win.
