Saturday NRL gets underway with the North Queensland Cowboys looking to bounce back against the Newcastle Knights.
It was a game of two halves in the Cowboys last start vs the Tigers. Trailing 36-0 at the half time break, they showed great character as they tried to fight their way back into the contest. The final score showed 36-20 but many positives came out of the second half. Drinkwater, Felt and Masters combined for 4 tries and Rookie Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow looked dangerous out wide with 2 line breaks. Cowboys have been very hard to figure out this year so far and will need to start putting the pieces together if they want to earn a place in the post season.
Knights were very strong I their 27-6 dismantling of the Brisbane Broncos. Kurt Mann is having an impressive run of late, crossing for a try and Kalyn Ponga showed why he was worth his steep pay check with 228 metre, a line break and kicking 5/5. The Knights currently sit 2nd on the ladder and their offense ranks second in the completion for points scored. They have a great blend of experience, size and speed; they will be a tough out this year.
Will have to take the Knights here and lay the points. Cowboys have been far too inconsistent in my opinion and with the only blemish on the Knights season being the defeat at the hands of the Storm I like them to take care of the Cowboys in this contest.
