Sunday NRL action gets underway with the Manly Sea Eagles taking on the Cronulla Sharks at Central Coast Stadium.

Manly are coming off a very gutsy win over the Canberra Raiders. Within the opening minutes Manly lost centre Brad Parker and five-eighth Dylan Walker to injury. Manly crossed twice in the first half, the first through Tom Trbojevic and the second to Funa in the 36th minute. Manley’s defence did not skip a beat in the loss forcing Canberra into uncharacteristic errors. Tom Trbojevic is likely to be ruled out for 4-6 weeks with a hamstring strain, which will be a big loss in this contest.

Sharks are coming off a narrow 20-18 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs. In the win, Katoa for the Sharks scored 3 tires in a brilliant individual performance. Sharks managed 36 tackle busts and 3 line breaks against a very stout Bulldogs defence. Matt Moylan looked dangerous lurking out the back and helped the Sharks dominate in the area of kick returns. Blayke Brailey topped his team with 41 tackles an Aaron Woods led the forwards in the middle with 194 run metres. Two of the three Bulldogs tries were scored right through the middle, an area the Sharks will need to focus on this week.

After a hard fought game against the Raiders, this Manly side are considerably banged up. I think they will struggle to score and so will the Sharks. With that in mind, I think the best play on the board is to take the total to go under.
