The second game of the NRL round sees the Canberra Raiders take on the St George Dragons.
Raiders came up short against the Eels in their round 7 clash. Despite scoring twice in the dying minutes and sending the game into overtime they failed to steal the win. Raiders, who are generally one of the best defensive units in the league, came unstuck at times allowing Parramatta to make 5 line breaks and 750 post contact metres. With the loss Canberra find themselves in 7th on the ladder making the win here all the more important.
Dragons were impressive for the most part against the Roosters in their last game, taking the reigning premiers to a locked up half time break. Unfortunately for St George they were unable to replicate the execution they displayed in the first half and the Roosters were able to grind out the win. Cameron McInnes had a strong game with 55 tackles while Zac Lomax looked threatening with every touch.
Canberra get to return home for the first time since the return of the NRL. They will relish the opportunity to play in front of their home ground and I believe they will take out a world of aggression on the Dragons here.
