Sunday NRL action starts off with the Manly Sea Eagles taking on the Newcastle Knights at Lottoland Stadium.
The Manly Sea Eagles got destroyed in their last start vs the Cronulla Sharks managing to score two late tries to mask a 28-point deficit. Fanua-Blake had a big game with 2 tries and 207 run metres while Jake Trbojevic topped the teams tackle count with 39. Manly have been pretty stout for the most part this season and I no doubt expect to see Manly bunker down in this game. The Sea Eagles looked to really miss fullback Tom Trbojevic and the direction he offers.
The Newcastle Knights are coming off a big shock loss in round 7 against the North Queensland Cowboys. To Newcastle's credit thought the Knights showed a lot of character to real in a 22-point half time defect to 12 points at the full-time siren. Hoy, Hunt, Mann and Shibaski all scored tries in the loss while Andrew McCullough lead the Knights in tackles with 58 and David Klemmer topped the teams run metres stat with 172. Kalyn Ponga continues to impress at Fullback and if the Knights forwards can get up early, he will have plenty opportunities in this contest.
I have to take the bait here with the Newcastle Knights. No Tommy Turbo for the Manly Sea Eagles is a huge loss and without him I feel their attack loses a lot of shine. Look for the Knights to bounce back big in this one.
