Game two on Friday sees us travel to Bankwest Stadium as the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Wests Tigers.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs produced a 26-10 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs in their last start, although the game as played on the field was much closer than this score indicated. The Rabbitohs lost the possession battle, had an inferior completion rate and barely eclipsed their opposition in post contact metres. The difference in the match came down to that the Rabbitohs made their opportunities count while the Bulldogs did not. Dane Gagai had a great game producing 304 run metres while Cameron Murray record a team high 49 tackles.
The Wests Tigers went toe-to-toe with the Penrith Panthers for the majority of the game in their last match, with the 7-point difference all coming in the last 10 minutes. Eisenhuth and Talau gave the Tigers the lead in the first half but they failed to cross the line to add to the total in the second half. The time of possession tilted heavily in favour of the Panthers, however, the Wests Tigers still managed 3-line breaks and 564 post contact metres with 11 offloads. To go with his try Matt Eisenhuth had a game high 62 tackles in the loss.
I am going to take the Wests Tigers here grabbing the handful of points. The South Sydney Rabbitohs for mine have been underwhelming and have not played well against higher calibre opposition. Tigers should cover this number comfortably.
