Tottenham Hotspur are top of the league table, level on points with Arsenal and with a home game against Chelsea to prove the title credentials of this Tottenham team. During the summer Andre Villa Boas spent over £100million bringing in Lamela, Ericksen, Chadli, Paulinho and Soldado, of course the team did sell Gareth Bale, who was the best player on the team last year, but Spurs fans I think have gotten over the loss of Bale due to the influx of players and the success so far of the team this year. It appears as if Villa Boas has most of the pieces of the puzzle in terms of the team he is trying to build at White Hart Lane and this Tottenham team look capable of contending at the top end of the table. In fact, this is the first time in a long time that Spurs may be genuine title contenders. A last minute winner at Cardiff last weekend has kept Tottenham on track, but Chelsea is real test so this game on Saturday morning should be an intriguing one.
The Jose Mourhino experiment continues as the Special one is settling into his second stint at Chelsea. Mourhino has had a tough time finding the correct balance in his side and at the moment seems unable to find a place for last years footballer of the year, Juan Mata. At the moment, Mourhino is allowing the team to revolve around Oscar with the brazilian playing as a withdrawn center forward in front of a midfield containing Hazard, Lampard and Mikel. Overall, Chelsea's start to the season is decent, but the surprise loss to Everton left questions over the team's goalscorers and there seems to still be unanswered questions with regard to that as Torres, Eto, Schurrle , Ba and Willian have yet to register one goal between them,
Game of the weekend this may be on paper, but I think it's going to be a tight affair and I think that both teams will approach this one cautiously. I'm going to take the draw here, I think Chelsea can get a point from the fixture and although I like the team that Villa Boas has put together, I think they lack a little bit of cutting edge. I think that both teams may struggle to find the net here and I'm taking the draw. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
