Another strange loss for Manchester City away to Aston Villa on Saturday, its funny but City have lost both of their games before their midweek Champions League games. Both time's they've been away both times they've taken a 1-0 led and both times they have lost the game 3-2. Crazy stuff. Manchester City manager Manuel Pelligrini to me anyway appears to have had his team set up right in the home games this season and while they are struggling away from the Ethiad Stadim , City look almost untouchable at home. With a midfield of Ya Ya toure, Nasri, Silva to go behind a front two of Aguero and Dzeko or Negredo , this is a seriously talented side.
Bayern Munich come into this game having won five in a row and are the European Champions, no major additions for Bayern in the summer and they lost Mario Gomes to Fiorentina has left the Bundesliga giants a little light up front. lucky for Bayern though they have such an explosive midfield with Ribery and Robben that can provide both assists and goals. There is no doubting that this is a very good Bayern team, the best in Europe? Maybe. But this is a tough fixture for Bayern, Manchester City's midfield is good, very good in fact and I think Ya Ya Toure and Silva can get the better of their Bayern counterparts and with Fernandinho playing midfield sweeper I think we could see an upset tomorrow.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. i could take the simple option and tell you to go all out on the over 2.5 goals or both teams to score market, both are really solid bets and should have no problem coming in BUT the value in this game is on Manchester City. City have won 40 of their last 45 home games, Manchester City players also appeared to be really up for the last Champions League game in Plezen that was a tough game a potential banana skin that they passed with flying colours, the then came home and destroyed rivals Manchester United 4-1 in the league. Ok City have not been good away from home but at home they have been pretty impressive and with the European Champions in town there is no need for extra motivation. I'm taking Manchester City at 11/5 for the outright win. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
