If Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge at Old Trafford there would no doubt be a war of words going on in the media in the buld up to this game , but David Moyes to a certain degree is him own man and he has been quiet enough inthe build up to this game. The game itself represents a massive opportunity for Moyes and his players to re establish their Premier League title ambitions. Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney have been in scintillating form of late and there is probably no better strike partnership in the Premier League when on form. Rooney in particular has been devestatingly effective for the Red Devils and will look to continue his good record against Arsenal. Rooney has scored more goals against Arsenal than he has any other british club.
Arsene Wenger knows that this game more than most will be a test of how far his team has come in the offseason and whether or not they are genuine contenders for the Premier League crown. Aaron Ramsey is playing the best football of his short career and with Cazorla, Ozil and Giroud also playing some beautiful football for Arsenal it will be interesting to see how the team does when it come up against one of traditional powerhouses of the league and the current Premier League Champions. Arsenal play an attractive brand of football and their quick passing and close control in midfield may be the key to hurting Manchester United as midfield is where United are weakest at the moment.
A really interesting game this one and one which if it lives up to its billing could be an absolute cracker. I think there may be somenervos energy out there between these two though and I'm convinced that arsenal will come to Old trafford and set up not to lose rather than to go all out to win. That tactic could actually work very well for arsenal as hitting on the counter attack is their speciality. Given the current league standings and the tactics i think will be employed here I see the under as a good bet. I know alot of people will look at this one and say two high powered offences has to produce goals but if you look at United's games against the big teams 0-0 v Chelsea 1-0 v Liverpool 4-1 v Manchester City, and for arsenal the results are similar but even more sqewed on the under 0-2 v Chelsea 2-0 v Liverpool 1-0 v tottenham. Anyway you can see from this what I am getting at. These big games often fail to live up to the expectations goalwise. I'm taking a smal play on the under.
