Football is a funny game and at times can be frustrating and mind numbing. Ac Milan have been on a rollercoaster this year and the appointment of Clarence Seedorf as head coach has had somewhat of a calming on the club. Balotelli seems to be more settled, Kaka is playing with more confidence and as a whole the club look in a better place under the dutchman. Turning around the fortunes of club as a whole might take longer but as an immediate effect the appointment seem's to have had the desired effect. Now the question is can Seedorf inspire his team to a victory over the heavily fancied Athletico Madrid?
Diego Simeone played for three years at Inter Milan, Ac's fierce rivals and will definitely be made feel "welcome" on his return to the San Siro. But Simeone has proven himself to be almost unflapable on the sidelines. His team Atheltico Madrid have been a revelation this year, the emergence of Diego Costa as a truly world class striker to go with the addition of veteran David Villa in the summer has proven a key to success. Athletico sit joint top of the Premiera League in spain but will be under no illusions as they travel to Milan about the tough game they will be in for.
Tough game to handicap this one. I think Milan will perform to a higher level than their season average and I think Athletico will be a little cautious. I expect this one to be a tense affair, low scoring and full of tension. Seedorf has shown himself to be a more cautious manager than the flair player he was. I am going to take the draw here as a result and I would probably bet on the unders as well if the price moves closer to 4/5 but at 7/10 its just a little short. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
